I follow my bliss to live a creative life.

Hi, I’m Toni, and I’m an artist.

Painting, drawing, or doodling on my iPad, I love to create art that inspires.

It all started with a desire to create the type of art that I’d want to buy, but since I could never find that perfect image of the character from my favourite book or game in my head, I decided to paint her instead.

I’ve spent most of my life making up stories and the pictures that go with them, starting from maps for my favourite books as a pre-pubescent book lover, to simple character drawings until I started ‘arting’ for real and decided to learn to draw.

I did attend art school, worked in a corporate job or two, raised my son and then decided life was too short to spend any more time not doing something I absolutely love and believe in.

But what was that?

So, I left my 9-5, looking for the answer to that big question. I went back to making art, and I’ve played and played and really explored the depths of what it means to be a creative person over the past couple of years, and I learned that being an artist is about more than just making pretty pictures. It’s about creating a space for myself, and other people where we can re-connect with who we are. I like to make each piece as an expression of my feelings at the time, and let the painting become in its own way. For me, it’s about magic, and dreams, and wonder and adventure.

Once I’ve found it or discovered it (it’s less like painting and more like finding something that is already there), and coaxed it out of hiding onto the paper, it’s in the wild until you come along and befriend it and take it home.

Discover magic, wonder & adventure.

People love to be inspired, dream and imagine.

And there is where it works its true magic.

There, on the walls of your home, this mystical faerie, or goddess, or forest seeps into your subconscious, and you find it in your dreams. Maybe, just maybe, it was already there, and that’s why you picked it up in the first place. But now you have it and it has you too.

People love to be inspired, they love to dream, to imagine, and that is where our power is. That’s why I make art, it’s about the story I’m sharing, the dreams that connect us, and the answer to the eternal question ‘who am I?’

So what else is there to tell?

When I’m not creating gorgeous art and figuring out ways to get it on your walls, I tell stories with a group of friends. Sometimes it’s in real life with dice and paper RPG’s (role-playing games for the non-geeks here), sometimes online in MMORPG’s. (That’s Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games. Yes, I played WoW (World of Warcraft)). And yes, we gamers love our acronyms.

I have 2 cats, one of whom likes to sleep on my paper while I’m drawing, the other steals my chair when I’m not looking, and a now grown up son who still lives at home (I’m in no hurry for him to leave, but don’t tell him that). I live in Perth Western Australia, which is beautiful; with pristine beaches hot weather 4-6 months of the year and hidden grottos in the hills above the city.

And that’s pretty much it. I really appreciate you visiting and stopping to read all about me. I’d love to hear about your magical dream, so drop me a line and we can have a chat about your vision. I’d love to help you make something beautiful that inspires your dreams.

Not ready to talk yet?

I’ve seen the difference living a creative life can make to someone’s personal growth, spiritually, mentally and emotionally. I believe that if you ‘follow your bliss’ (thanks Joseph Campbell), you will find your truth and help make the world a more beautiful and magical place.

If you’re looking for inspirational art and illustrations, you’ll find more creations in my gallery. I hope you enjoy the show!
